In order to avoid delay, you are able to book a procedure directly with Dr John Chetwood without having a consultation first - for a limited number of indications.
People who may be eligible to book straight in for a procedure:
- Are under 80 years of age
- In good health
- Not taking blood thinners (apart from aspirin)
- Have no history of diabetes, heart, kidney, liver or lung disease
- Have a current referral
AND have ONE of the following indications:
- Iron deficiency
- Positive faecal occult blood test (bowel cancer screening)
- Personal history of colonic polyps
- Family history of bowel cancer
- Rectal bleeding
- Difficulty swallowing
- Previous Barrett's oesophagus
- Abnormal imaging (eg CT scans)
Please note, you will still need a valid referral (GP or other specialist) and Medicare number for Medicare reimbursement.
HOW TO BOOK
To book for a procedure, patients or their specialist may complete the request form (under contact us), or contact Chatswood Endoscopy (for Sydney bookings), or Griffith Gastroenterology (for Griffith Bookings) and request to be seen by Dr John Chetwood.
Once approved by Dr Chetwood, you will receive a call to get further information including Medicare and private health details, discuss the fee's involved and then either book you in for the procedure or a consultation if required.
